Flanged housing units for large electrical machinery
For rotor bearing arrangements in large electrical machinery with end shields, FAG manufactures complete flanged housing units of series FERS, FERB, FKC and FKB. FAG flanged housing units offer a wide range of advantages in the design, production, assembly and maintenance of large electrical machinery. The design of the end shields is significantly simplified, resulting in considerable reductions in the construction work required on large motor housings. Thanks to their highly developed design, these bearing solutions are extremely easy to maintain.

Spherical plain bearings, plain bushes, rod ends
Since the introduction of the spherical plain bearing, ELGES spherical plain bearings and ELGES rod ends have had a decisive influence on the development and technological progress of these precision components. This led to extensive product innovations and many pioneering applications only became possible due to the know-how of the company group. Furthermore, the new maintenance-free ELGOGLIDE® bearings – as spherical plain bearings, cylindrical bushes or combinations of radial, angular contact and axial bearings – continue the tradition of this product group and at the same time represent state-of-the-art engineering and economical bearing solutions.

Sealing rings
Single lip and double lipThe quality of a bearing arrangement is decisively influenced by the components – shaft, housing, seal – that are directly adjacent to the bearing. Seals play a decisive role in protecting bearings against contamination. If inadequate seals are used, contaminants can penetrate the bearing or an unacceptably large quantity of lubricant may escape from the bearing. Solid contaminants lead to wear and/or fatigue of the raceways and rolling elements.

Fine blanking and Systems engineering
The HYDREL brand – today's name for fine-blanked parts and components that meet the most demanding requirements. Hydrel GmbH, the Swiss national company of Schaeffler KG of Germany (based in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria) has been using this technology since the late 1950s. Together with the workforce at Schaeffler France (Haguenau, Alsace), over 300 employees work on the fine blanking product line. Both factories are equipped with excellent machinery and they are constantly investing in the latest manufacturing technologies.
